Uber Ultramarine 50th Anniversary Ring

The fiftieth anniversary is also known as a 'golden anniversary'. This 'uber' ring is made from 18ct yellow gold and is topped with a sparkly oval ultramarine D's favourite stone.

I wanted the carving to reflect waves and ripples in moving water as D and A  are both water signs and the meaning of ultramarine comes from Latin and means "beyond the water".

The outside of the ring has been left matte with the inside highly polished with a comfort fit. This ring will polish up beautifully on the higher areas of carving with wear.

Spring Engagement

This ring, that was finished last year is made from 9ct yellow gold and old cut diamonds. The diamonds were from a ring that belonged to Granny and there was a lot of discussing about whether all three stones should be used or just the largest one as a solitaire but I just knew all three would make this ring look really lush. The finished ring absolutely delighted the couple and me.
Congratulations I and T.
It was an absolute pleasure making this for you both.

Special Mountain Ring

This ring was commissioned last year by a lovely couple who came along to last years Open Studio. They had found me over the internet and loved my Golden Mountain Ring but wanted something specially carved for them, so I worked with S to Design this ring.
I love how it turned out, looking as though it had been cleaved from a mountain side, especially fitting as it turns out S not only studied sculpture but is also a stone mason........ Congratulations S & R!

I love it when a plan comes together!

The signet  ring below is an example of when a plan comes together. I had been meaning to make a simple signet ring like this for some time. The top is slightly curved matching the curve in the  3mm diameter ring shank. This ring is on the smaller side of ring sizes but would be perfect for a little pinky ring. The image of the running deer throwing its head backwards is in relief.

This ring will be available at tonight's

level 4, studio 13
The Nicholas Building
4pm-9pm

White Gold...

Here is a ring that was commissioned
just before Christmas.
I think the combination of the white gold,
green Sapphires and
white diamonds is excellent!

Wedding Rings

I meant to post this yesterday as I have had weddings on my mind.
On Saturday I attended the lovely E & C's wedding and it was a wonderful ceremony (I cried during the vows!). The bride looked lovely the groom got emotional, it was ace.

We then all drank, ate and danced to the couples health.
Check out KB's post who also attended.
