This year is the 10th Anniversary of the

OPEN STUDIO Nicholas Building event.

I  have been proudly producing this event for the last 10 years that was 1st concieved as a way of letting people know about the diverse and talented artists within the Nicholas Building.

This year will be our largest event, 

with 30 studios opening their doors.

I hope you will come and visit me on level 7 and say hello...

Its almost the end of winter and time for the annual open studios event. Come visit my studio and have a look around the building I promise it is like no other open studio event.........

4pm-9pm both nights

And we have two brand new lifts that will be operating both nights to make it much easier to get up and down the building.

The eyes have it......

Just making some special little showroom earrings for the open studio like I do every year.

This year the eyes have it.........

I have only made a few of these sterling silver earrings

so if you like what you see get to the OPEN STUDIOS early.

Silver Ex Votive offering from my collection.

An exvoto or votive offering is an expression of thanks, dedicated to a cured part of the body. They are made of silver, wax, or painted on a panel. They are brought out of gratitude, displayed at the church. Prior to the advent of the eye-care professional they were the only recourse for those suffering from eye problems; basically praying was all that was available in early times. Poorer folk centuries ago likely offered ex votives on perishable material, not being able to afford better.

My work from The Black exhibition will also be on display, so come and visit it will be another wonderful event.

Here is the reason for my serious lack of recent posts.

Between organising this years event finishing orders and making some new work for the showroom there has not been much time left over. But its all worth it because this years event promises to be the best and biggest ever, with some Open Studio regulars opening up again as well as some new faces.

OPEN STUDIOS Nicholas Building 2009 Event

It's that time of the year again! The Nicholas Building is once again opening its doors for the 5th installment of Open Studios Nicholas Building........

I've been busy making small improvements to my showroom (I've painted the floor for starters) in anticipation of the crowds. Please come and visit me level 7 room 10,

4pm-9pm this Thursday and Friday 27th and 28th of August.
